Phase Out of Certain Flea and Tick Collars

Sergeant's Pet Care Products INC. and Wellmark International reached a voluntary agreement to phase out flea and tick collars that include the component "Propoxur" following many requests to the EPA from worried consumers. Scientists believe that propoxur, a hazardous chemical and proven carcinogen, poses a risk to kids who might come into contact with the collars while playing with their pets. Be sure to wash your hands or the hands of your child following exposure to the chemicals because they are absorbed through the skin.
